Watch: 8 Video Clips From ‘Green Lantern’ For Your Viewing Pleasure

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 05:30 PM PDT

The DC Comics film Green Lantern won’t open in theaters until June 17 but today we get to see 8 video clips which gives us, essentially, 8 minutes of the film. Spread out over the course of the film — from before Hal Jordan becomes Green Lantern up to his climactic final battle scene with Parallax — these clips kinda let you watch the film before the film is even released. Now, I’m not a big fan of watching too much footage from films before they are released but … I kinda slipped and watched all of these clips myself. If you want to watch all or some of these Green Lantern clips, you can do so below.

Based on just these clips, Green Lantern looks great! Now, there is a lot more movie than just these 8ish minutes show … but after watching these 8 clips, are you more excited to see Green Lantern or … have you seen enough that you don’t need to watch the movie at all? As for these clips … are you impressed? Intrigued? Excited? Bored? Sound off below :D

‘Wonder Woman’ Lynda Carter Signs CDs In LA

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 04:30 PM PDT

The new Wonder Woman may not be good enough to air on TV this Fall but the original Wonder Woman is still going STRONG with a thriving career of her own. Lynda Carter, the one and only Wonder Woman, made an in-store appearance at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove here in LA, CA last night to sign copies of her new album Crazy Little Things. At 59 years old, Lynda is still packin’ in fans clamoring to see her … which is proof that she is and will always be the one and ONLY Wonder Woman.

It is 40 years since she last played the lasso-bearing, bullet deflecting superhero Wonder Woman. But 59-year-old actress Lynda Carter showed she still has superhero style youthful looks as she arrived at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles earlier tonight. The star looked stunning in a red and white outfit as she posed for pictures outside the store to promote her new CD Crazy Little Things. The star, who began singing at 14-years-old, has re-imagined songs like Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love, The Eagles’ Desperado and Hank Williams’ I’m so Lonesome I Could Cry. she performed numbers from her album from her album as well as sign copies of her CD. ‘I sang all over the country during those Wonder Woman years’, she told KTLA. ‘It is an iconic character, and if the way to connect with people is the way they feel they can connect to me. In many ways, because they can connect to me, they will sample my music,’ she added.

Goddess … pure and simple. I was very lucky to get to see Lynda perform live back in 2009 and it was a night I’ll never forget. I’ve said this many times before but Lynda Carter, as Wonder Woman, was my “first love”. I wanted to marry her … when I was 6 years old. I will always have mad love for this woman and I am just thrilled to see her still doing what she loves doing. Singing, yes, but IMHO she is most happy when she is making her fans happy. I just love her :D

Watch: The Harry Potter Actors Through The Years

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 03:30 PM PDT

As we get nearer and nearer to the release of the FINAL Harry Potter film, the promo materials for the last installment of the franchise just keep on coming out. Today we get to check out an amazing featurette that promotes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 by taking us all the way back to the first Harry Potter film released 10 years ago. Actually, the featurette below takes us back even further … showing us the first screen test that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint filmed for the first Harry Potter film. Grab your tissues, y’all, and check out the video below.

Are you dying? Tell me you are not dying right now. It’s one thing to remind us that the Harry Potter film franchise is quickly coming to a final end but to do so by showing us all of the films that have come before leading up to the final film? Lord. Can you believe that Daniel, Emma and Rupert were ever that little? Ugh … try as I might, I just don’t think I’ll ever be properly prepared for the end of Harry Potter. This is a fantastic featurette video but, man, it really just reminds me how NOT READY I am to say goodbye to Harry Potter.

Matt Bomer & Eliza Dushku Film New Scenes For ‘White Collar’ Together In NYC

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Yesterday we saw a super cute photo of Eliza Dushku and Matt Bomer on the set of White Collar together and today we get to see new photos of the pair filming scenes for the show. Eliza and Matt, who previously co-starred together on Tru Calling, are in NYC this week filming their episode of White Collar … check out their photos below.

OMG … love these photos. It would seem that Eliza is playing some sort of mysterious femme fatale character … perhaps a foil to Bomer‘s character. Altho the actors are BFFs in real life, something tells me that they will be at odds and will go head to head when the face off on this episode of White Collar. It occurs to me that if Eliza‘s guest starring role turns out to be a success, she might return to the show as a recurring character. HMMM. That would be very cool. These are fun photos, I hope we get to see more.

Watch: Anderson Cooper Puts Paris Hilton’s Hypocrisy On Blast

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 01:45 PM PDT

Last week, Paris Hilton appeared on The View to promote her new reality TV series and ended up getting scolded on live television for basically being a hypocrite. Last night, Anderson Cooper, too, devoted some time from his CNN show to further outline all of Paris‘s hypocrisies in an attempt to counter Paris Hilton‘s crusade to try and convince the world that she is a changed person. The video below is a MUST see.

Now, some may maintain that everyone is ganging up on Paris Hilton to pick on her but I think she merely asked for all of this negative attention. First, she decides to star in a new reality TV series and then, to promote that show, goes on various interview programs to tell the world how mature and changed she is … despite the fact that the show she is promoting SHOWS that she has neither matured or changed from her usual vapid ways. Anderson is merely pointing out the obvious … and for that I love him dearly. My hope is that this reality TV failure will finally get Paris Hilton to just step away from the spotlight. But, if she wishes to remain in the public eye she better get used to people calling her on her bullshizz. After all, her hypocrisy makes the criticism all too easy.

Ollieland

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 12:47 PM PDT

Yesterday, in celebration of Ollie’s birthday, David and I made the trek down to Anaheim, CA to meet up with Ollie, Tamar, Caleb and Rob at Disneyland to spend the afternoon/evening/night enjoying all the fun of Disney together. After a quick bite to eat at Tortilla Jo’s, we hit both Disneyland and California Adventure and tried to ride as many rides as possible. We had an absolute blast. Check out some photos from our fun day at Disney below.

We had hoped to be able to ride the new Star Tours ride but the 4 hour wait meant that we’d have to postpone our visit for another day. We did get to ride many of our other fave rides and got to check out the new Ariel’s Under Sea Adventure ride at California Adventure. It’s a cute ride, very reminiscent of the classic rides at Disneyland. One of the highlights for us was getting to take photos with the big cheese at DisneylandMickey Mouse himself:

If you can believe it, Ollie and I actually got scolded by a Disneyland employee for running toward Mickey Mouse … geeze, it’s as if we were being bad role models for the kids or something. In any event, we had an absolute blast. Disneyland is so much fun … but it’s even funner if you get to enjoy the park with your friends. I hope Ollie had a great birthday cuz I know I had an amazing time celebrating with her :D

Tonight, I’m heading out to the El Rey Theater to see Death Cab for Cutie. I’ve never seen them live before so I’m hoping for a fun show. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!

Watch: Britney Spears Sees The ‘Femme Fatale’ Tour Stage For The First Time

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 11:24 AM PDT

Earlier today we saw a preview video for an upcoming Entertainment Tonight feature that is set to air Wednesday that will highlight Britney Spears during her tour rehearsals for the Femme Fatale Tour. Right now, tho, we get to check out an amazingly cute video of Britney seeing her Femme Fatale Tour stage for the very first time. It’s a really cute clip, y’all. Check it out below.

Awww … LOVE THIS! I’m assuming that ET will air some of this footage Wednesday but it’s nice to get a sneak peek now. Britney looks so excited by her stage … as she should be, it looks amazing! I am SO excited for this tour! It is going to be amazing … I just know it. As much as I want to be surprised, I know I won’t be able to resist all of the tour spoilers that are going to be coming out in the coming weeks. OY! Very cool stage, tho. I love this video :) It’s cute, right?

‘True Blood’ Season 4 Puts The Vampires Front And Center

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 11:10 AM PDT

We are just weeks away from the season 4 premiere of True Blood on HBO and up until now, the focus of the new season has really been about the new batch of witch characters that will make their debut on the show. BUT, lets we forget, True Blood is really all about the vampires … so today we get to check out a new promo photo of the main TB vamps, courtesy of TVLine. Click below to see our fave True Blood vamps all assembled together and read some deets about what’s to come when TB season 4 premieres on June 26.

Much has been made about True Blood's upcoming fourth season being one big witchapalooza, but what about the vamps?! Yep, they're still around — and in the throes of a massive PR campaign to repair their tarnished image in the wake of all that Season 3 nastiness. Leading the charge will be vampire mouthpiece Nan Flanagain, played by newly series regular-ed Jessica Tuck, pictured … holding court with fellow full-time Blood suckers Stephen Moyer (Bill), Kristin Bauer (Pam), Alexander Skarsgård (Eric) and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica). "We're living in a post-Russell Edgington world everyone," Nan reminds her flock in the June 26 premiere, "and we win back the human public one smile at a time." But the road to redemption will be a bumpy one, according to executive producer Alan Ball, who reveals that Marnie Stonebrook — the spiritual medium character played by Fiona Shaw — will prove to be the vampire community's biggest threat. Teases Ball: "She is going to discover a way to have power over them."

I’m glad some of the show’s focus will remain on the vampires because they really are the foundation of the show. With all the shapeshifters, werewolves, werepanthers, fairies and now witches thrown into the mix … it’s easy to forget that, hello, there are vampires in town. It’ll be great to have True Blood back on the air. While I am not always crazy about some of the show’s storylines, I do really enjoy the show overall. I can’t wait for these fangers to be back on the small screen on a weekly basis.

Chris & Liam Hemsworth Are Hot Brothers In Arms

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 10:50 AM PDT

Yesterday we saw super hot photos of Thor actor Chris Hemsworth at the beach here in SoCal and today we get to see him posing for Who magazine with his younger brother Liam. The Hemsworths were selected for the magazine’s 100+ Beautiful People of 2011 issue and posed together for their photo. With Hemsworth promoting Thor and filming The Avengers and Liam working hard on The Hunger Games, the time seems ripe for the Hemsworth brothers to take over the world.

Both Chris and Liam are poised to really become big names in Hollywood. Chris is establishing himself as a big action/superhero movie star and Liam could possibly become the new Robert Pattinson (that is, if The Hunger Games can do for him what Twilight did for R. Pattz). It remains to be seen just how big the Hemsworth brothers will be but they are deffo on the right track. I really love this photo of the two of them together. Do you have a favorite Hemsworth? If you could have one, which would YOU choose?

First Look: ‘Conan The Barbarian’ Releases New Character Posters

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 09:48 AM PDT

Early last month we got our first look at the first movie trailer for this Summer’s reboot film Conan the Barbarian, which stars Jason Momoa in the lead role. In that trailer, we got our first look at actress Rose McGowan as the evil character Marique. Today we get to see a couple of new character posters from the film which give us a better look at Marique and another look at Conan in action.

I can’t even stand it … Rose looks so badass in this poster. Before the first trailer was released, I hadn’t anticipated that Rose would be playing a villain … but I am in LOVE with the idea of her being all evil and stuff. I love the way she looks … she is going to rule this film. As for Jason Momoa, well, he just looks good … period:

As a new fan of Game of Thrones (which features Momoa as Khal Drogo), I’m happy that Jason spends half of his on screen time in that series naked from the waist up … and the other half naked from the waist down. Well, ok … maybe not half of his onscreen time is spent waist down naked but … I’ve seen enough of his booty to be very thankful ;) As for his work in Conan, I’m sure he’s gonna rock the part … especially if he continues to appear on screen in all his half naked glory :D

Simon Cowell Says He Was Only ‘Protecting’ Cheryl Cole By Axing Her From ‘The X Factor’

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 09:18 AM PDT

Yesterday we learned officially that Cheryl Cole will NOT be judging the US version of The X Factor and will be replaced by former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger. Today we are hearing from Simon Cowell, the man in charge, about the decision to axe Cheryl from the show. Simon is apologizing for the “anguish and embarrassment” that this incident has caused Cheryl Cole but he insists he was only trying to protect her … or some nonsense like that. Read on to hear what Simon Cowell has to say about Cheryl Cole‘s elimination from The X Factor.

Simon Cowell last night broke his silence to explain why he killed off Cheryl Cole's American dream. The 51-year-old claimed he thought she would be happy to move back to the UK version of The X Factor but admitted he bottled out of telling her. Instead, he sent X Factor's executive producer Richard Holloway to deliver the bad news. Cowell said: "The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her, but the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time." Earlier, bosses confirmed that after failing to respond to their offer to come back, she had been officially replaced on the US panel by ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger – who arrived for an interview in London for the Graham Norton Show. Cheryl filmed just four episodes of the US version of X Factor last month. Tensions started after the first audition in Los Angeles on May 8 when Cowell told Cheryl to contribute more. After the Chicago auditions on May 19, Cowell conceded she had to go. She was sacked on May 25 before the show even hit TV screens – but show bosses did an unexpected U-turn when they offered Cheryl her job back on Saturday and gave her 24 hours to decide. Cowell insisted it was a genuine offer but he admits it caused rows. He added: "When she turned down the UK show, we got back in touch and said, well she is still under contract with the US show so we invited her back. Her position was still there. We had some heated conversations with her US manager Will.i.am and he inferred this wasn't a genuine offer. They thought that if she didn't turn up on Wednesday then we wouldn't pay her. We made it clear that she was always going to be paid in full. We got to the point on Saturday when we genuinely thought she was going to accept the offer but again neither she nor they returned any calls. So we've announced Nicole." Cowell explained he and TV bosses had previously decided Cheryl was "uncomfortable" on the US show and felt offering her the chance to return to the UK X Factor would be the best option. He confirmed the deal would have been worth £2.5million if she agreed to it, but talks broke down when news of her problems in America began to leak out. He said: "Knowing Cheryl like I know her, we noticed she was quieter than normal, looked a bit uncomfortable but I put some of this down to nerves. The overall feeling was that she was slightly out her comfort zone in America, compared to what she was in the UK. If she had accepted my original offer, she would have made a sensational return and would have understood she was more comfortable in the UK than the US … I apologise that all this has become public and I understand the stress she is under, and I hate that. But we have all been under a lot of stress. When things like this happen I look at the contestant, they must think this is crazy. All the attention is on us. I am sorry this has caused so much anguish and embarrassment, but I stand by what I believe was the right intention. And I would say that to her face right now." Cowell insisted he hoped to still be friends with Cheryl, despite their spectacular fall out and war of words via their friends, which has been played out in the media for two weeks. He said: "I had a text from her last Wednesday. She said she felt let down but at the time she understood that it was a professional decision. I replied saying this was never personal or saying you were terrible. It wasn't that she was terrible – she was good – I just thought she'd be happier in the UK … A hundred per cent I have to take full responsibilty because I do have a lot of sway. We are close friends. I still hope we are but sometimes when you're that close, when you're making these decisions with someone's life you have to be certain. I stand by what I said to her. I hope we're still close friends. I'm sure if she was here now there would be a frank discussion, but will I work with her again? Definitely. She's a star."

Wow … well, at least Simon seems very clear in laying out exactly what went down. You may recall that last weekend, we learned of a report where it was claimed that Cowell was trying to figure out a way to get Cheryl back on board with X Factor and it sounded like she was going to take back the job but, if Simon is to be believed, Cheryl‘s new manager Will.i.am threw a monkey wrench in negotiations and soured the entire deal. Now Cheryl is out, Nicole is in. What a mess. Personally, I think it was a bad idea for Cheryl Cole to sign Will.i.am as her manager. The first and only thing he’s done for her is advise her OUT of this X Factor job. Here’s hoping better days are ahead for Cheryl … but at least now we know how everything went down with this failed X Factor mess.

Gwen Stefani’s Solo Days Are Dunzo!

Posted: 07 Jun 2011 07:52 AM PDT

Gwen Stefani, frontwoman of the band No Doubt, sat down to talk with Entertainment Weekly magazine about the future of the band that made her famous and she revealed that now that she is back in the fold, ready to make a new album with ND, she is ready to retire from her solo music career. According to Gwen, the plan was never to become a solo act … and because of that fact, she will only be making music with her bandmates in No Doubt.

It has been nearly 10 years since No Doubt dropped their last studio album, Rock Steady; five years since singer Gwen Stefani dropped her last solo album The Sweet Escape; and two years since the group reunited for a big summer tour. But Job-like No Doubt fans are about to be rewarded: Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young sat down with Entertainment Weekly in Santa Monica this past weekend to chat about where they've been—and where they're going. And while we're keeping the big news a secret for now (you can read the whole interview in this week's coming issue, which is on newsstands this Friday), Stefani did tell us that the days of her being a solo artist are probably over. "That was a moment in time," Stefani said firmly when asked about the future of her solo career. "It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you're at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should."

Blah … not good news. As excited I am that No Doubt will be making new music together again, I am really bummed that Gwen is ending her solo career. I suppose it is a lot of work to be a mother, a wife, a fashion designer/business woman, a frontwoman for a world famous band AND a solo artist so I understand her reasoning. But her solo music is so fun, I’m upset that we won’t get any more albums from her. Still … I guess we can take heart that new No Doubt music is on the way. I suppose it’s not unreasonable that Gwen wants to enjoy her personal life as well as her professional life without having to fill every second of her free time with music making.
