I was going to title this post Worst Ever Top Coat for Konad because I'm sitting here fuming a bit
I just finished my bottle of Poshe Top Coat which worked amazing for Konad - any manicure really
Poshe Top Coat (left) and Sally Hansen Mega Shine (right) |
With Poshe Top Coat I never had to wait for my konad stamped polish to dry - I would apply a layer of Poshe right after konad stamping and it was perfect. The nail would dry in 1-2 minutes
Poshe worked perfect for any other regular manicure as well - always dried quick, I did not have an issue with shrinkage, made my manicure nice and shiny
Last week I ran out of my Poshe Top Coat and threw the bottle out in the garbage so I used my Sally Hansen Mega Shine
Mega Shine worked like a charm for my base coat colour - my manicure dried quickly within a couple of minutes and my manicure was shiny......
THEN I decided to Konad my nails and I didn't realize the problem until about the 3rd nail I konaded - my konad was smearing for the first time. Grrr! I paid close attention and realized it was the Mega Shine Top Coat smearing my konad because my konad patterns had lifted and stamped perfectly prior to top coat application
Smears on the plaid pattern (thumb), the smeared purple flower (middle finger) and smeared diamond pattern (ring finger) |
I even waited like 5 minutes for the ring finger pattern to "dry" (to my annoyance since I never waited for my stamped konad polish to dry) and it still smeared :(
I didn't realize how good my Poshe Top Coat was until I now
Since I konad pretty much all my manicures now, I will not be repurchasing the Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat
Honestly, I think it's the brush causing the problem. The formula for Sally Hansen Mega Shine works well. But I couldn't careless about using another brush as a substitute at this point.
Have you ever had this problem if you've used konad before?
If you haven't used konad before, do you think you'll try it?
