Shooting Range + Branthouse Nightclub Christmas party pics

I hope you're having a lovely Holiday season and if you're celebrating Christmas, have a very Merry Christmas :)
**PIC heavy ***
A couple of things I did this week included going to a shooting range for the first time! I went with my friends Jasmin and Gordon on Wednesday. The shooting range was about an hour and a half drive away.
Have you ever been to a shooting range before?
I was pretty nervous in the beginning to say the least. But it was a fun experience :)
Gun shots are very loud in person. I had ear plugs in and noise cancelling ear phones on top of the ear plugs. I inquired if there were any silencers around since I figured that would be a great solution and I was informed that silencers are illegal in Canada. Did you know that? I didn't.

Machine guns are also illegal in Canada. Some food for thought ;)
Oh, and I dispised flying shell casings! You can't see them when you're firing the gun yourself because it's so fast. But if you're watching someone shoot a gun, you'll see the shell casings if it's the type of gun that releases them.
This is my friend Gordon. He's a very very sharp shooter. Ex-sniper.
Gordon with his sniper gun. It has a telescope that can see up to 1.5 kilometres away and you can target an object that far as well! Impressive.
This is Brett. He's Gordon's co-worker and also a very very sharp shooter. He shoots competitively. He was my instructor and loaded all the guns for me :) He's a really nice guy and very knowledgeable about gun & ammo history. He makes bullets for fun and can make other things like silencers...etc...

This is none other than my bestie Jasmin. I love this picture. Brett is steadying her and she's shooting a musket or something. The rifle/musket is over 100 years old I believe.

And look at how much smoke came out of shooting that old darn thing! LOL. I swear I saw a flame come out too.
This is me using a gun for the first time. I believe it's a revolver.
The hat and coat are courtesy of Gordon, so I'm absolutely de-sexified haha.

And this is me with a larger gun :)

It was very cold out. I froze - my feet in particular. Jasmin and I had to jump in the car and heat ourselves up a few times during the course of the day and she took this picture of me. My feet are over the heating vents LOL. Don't mind the toes - I was wearing a double layer of socks and it left marks on my toes.

Later on Wednesday Jasmin and I went out to Branthouse Nightclub for their Christmas Party.

I decided to wear red since it was a Christmas themed party.

The dress I wore was from Urban Behaviour:

The shoes I wore were Jessica Simpson Lizza shoes which were gifted to me for Christmas from my friend Dale. These shoes are really comfortable by the way. And I think Dale has great taste in shoes :)

I look semi decent prior to drinking. If you have not noticed that fact already from previous posts, you'll see what I mean over the course of the next few photos.

This is me and Jasmin in her condo washroom while we were getting ready to head out.
Jasmin and I in her condo just before heading out.

My face does not fail in reflecting the number of drinks I have had. Unfortunate.
This is me, Jasmin and some guy Mark who keeps trying to pick up Jasmin ;)
Our friend Patrick showed up at the club. This is Patrick and myself.
Oh gosh, just look at my face LOL.

This is Jasmin, me and Patrick just before we left the club when it was closing. That is why we had our jackets on :) Awww, group hug!

Have you gone to a Christmas party or two this month?

On Christmas eve the next day, I had dinner with Jasmin and Gordon. It was just the three of us and we cooked a bit of a feast Thai style. I love Jasmin's cooking.

Have a lovely day =)

A couple of gifts + more partying at Branthouse ;)

December is quite the busy month isn't it? How's is your December coming along?

Last week, I turned a quarter of a century old and got a few gifts from family and friends. I went out on Saturday to my favourite nightclub, Branthouse and wore a couple of the new gifts I got.

My girlfriend Jasmin bought me this really really pretty bracelet for my birthday. I absolutely love it :)

And she also bought me the matching earrings which are just as beautiful. I couldn't wait to wear them as soon as I got them! She's so good at picking out gifts - the bracelet and earrings are totally my style.

These are one of two pairs of shoes that my older sister had gifted to me. I love it -sequins and colour!

And this is me getting ready to head out to the nightclub. I didn't realize I was still listening to music on my iPod while I took this picture until after the fact.

And this is a slightly better close up of my eye makeup which included:
MAC #3 lashes
MAC Nocturnelle eye shadow (another new favourite eye shadow!)
MAC Knight Devine eye shadow and
MAC Blitz and Glitz Fluidline

This was my outfit to the club
Dress: Urban Behaviour
Shoes: Spring Shoes (close up picture above in this post)
My girlfriend Jasmin took this picture of us in her bathroom after she got ready herself. She's gorgeous and if you're wondering where her dress is from, it's from Marciano ;)

Jasmin and I actually ran into some old acquaintances at Branthouse believe it or not. Here is a picture of Gerry and I. Suzy is to the right of me but she's half cut out of the picture!

Jasmin and I got introduced to the main owner of Branthouse that night :) He was partying it up with (strictly) Asian women! It was nice meeting him ;)
One of the girls partying with the owner wanted to take a picture of us blowing kisses and I always for some reason, look terrible in group shots. I always have my mouth hanging open, I'm looking in the wrong direction, my eyes are shut or I look caught off guard LOL. My bestie Jasmin is on the very far left of the picture and I'm second to the right of the picture. I totally forgot the names of the two other girls in this picture... I'm terrible with names :\

Did you do anything fun this weekend or at least catch up on some well deserved rest? ;)
As well, I wanted to wish you a safe and very joyous Holiday season =) Best wishes xox

MAC Heritage Rouge Pigment and some pics at Branthouse

It's so easy to neglect your blog and forget about it, isn't it?
It took me a week to pretty much catch up on my rest after my trip and get everything organized once again.
On Thursday I went out to my favourite club, Branthouse. My best friend Jasmin came with me (as always) and another friend Patrick joined us.
I was running a bit late (typical). Lazy as always I just patted some MAC Artifact Paint Pot and MAC Heritage Rouge pigment onto my lids.

It was a Thursday night and really really cold. So I dressed casual. I believe I got this dress from Urban Planet. The boots are from Aldo.

My friends Jasmin and Patrick at Branthouse. They're so photogenic ;)

Is that guy laughing at me??!!! Oh well. This is what I look like after 3 shots of tequila and 2 Heinekens. I was on my third Heineken I believe...

This is Patrick being silly and the camera cord came in the way :\

How was your weekend? Did you go out and do anything or stay indoors and take it easy? =)

My favourite false lashes at the moment: MAC #3

It's a bit pathetic when it takes me more than fifteen minutes and several attempts to apply false eye lashes.

So I vowed to myself I would practice and get it right.

I'm getting better at applying falsies and I've only worn them five times in the past two weeks so I'm glad I'm picking up the habit faster than anticipated.

And my favourite pair of lashes that I've sported here and there are the MAC #3 lashes:

The Ardell #110 lashes come a close second to the MAC #3's in my books.

The MAC #3 lashes add enough drama to your eyes but I personally don't find it excessive to the point where I only wear them at night or special events. I would wear them out in the daytime but personally I would not sport them in a business/professional setting.

So this is me with a crap load of eye makeup and I have not curled my lashes:

Okay, its now my right eye but here are my lashes super duper curled. I'm using two coats of MAC Prep + Prime lash followed by two coats of L'oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Black.

Note how weird and gaped my real lashes are.

And now, I've used the clear DUO glue to glue on the MAC #3 lashes:

See how more "normal" and nice the fake lashes look? It like fills in all the gaps in the right spots LOL. Yay!
Now, if only they weren't so pricey!! Can't have everything I guess...*sigh*
Do you wear false eye lashes once in a while? Which brand and style of lash is your favourite?
Do you have any plans for the upcoming weekend?! Let me know!

MAC Lightful Foaming Creme Cleanser

I wanted a cleanser that was a little bit more luxurious than my daily Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Face Cleanser

The Neutrogena cleanser effectively removes layers of face makeup: my long-wearing foundation, bronzer, blush, highlight, and perhaps also some finishing powder

But it does leave my skin feeling dry right away - and I always have to have a face cream at hand.

So I wanted a nice creamy face cleanser that wouldn't leave my skin dry.

It would be a bonus if it helped give my skin some radiance, helped get rid of a pimple or two, and took off my makeup. Maybe that's asking for tooo much!

It has a richer, thicker consistency than the Neutrogena Face Cleanser. You don't need a lot, this amount was good enough to wash my face with:

It does what it claims: cleanses skin without dehydrating it.

My skin feels soft after I use it and I don't feel the need to grab my face cream right away (although I still moisturize my face after cleansing).

I tested to see if it could remove any of my face or eye makeup. The product does not claim to remove any makeup but I was curious ;)

Me, hunched over the sink before wetting my face

After using the cleanser and rinsing it off:

It removed all my face makeup. Yay!

But for my eye makeup, it removed about 80% of my eye shadow. It did not remove much of my eye liner (I used MAC Blitz & Glitz fluidline with MAC Feline Kohl) nor did it remove much of my waterproof mascara (L'oreal Voluminous). Then again, it never claimed to remove any makeup in the first place.

Oh, and it does sting if you get this in your eyes LOL (duh)

Verdict: It's nice to have a creamy moisturizing face cleanser. I'm not sure if I would purchase this again right away - I might try out a different creme cleanser.

What cleanser are you using?

Is it a creamy moisturizing face cleanser or is it more harsh in order to remove all your makeup?
How is your week coming along by the way?! =)

Nothing new...just a slight bronze eye look and I'm on a trip again

I used a couple of the new MAC shadows I bought the other day and this is the look I came up with...

I LOVE the MAC Bronze eye shadow I got which is what I used all over my lid here. I put some MAC Kid eye shadow around the edges to soften the harshness a bit (I love MAC Kid too!). For the inner corner of my eyes I used Cargo's Bronze eye shadow (not as flaterring on me as MAC bronze). And then I used MAC Stately Black (from the HK quad) on the outer V.

Forgive the picture - I just look like I have a huge bruise around my eye. Terrible quality photo I must admit LOL

I've been busy packing and booking my trip this week.
I had a four hour flight this morning and I'm now out West again in Calgary. Hey it's Grey Cup weekend! And this time I rented a condo for my stay instead of hotel suite. And I must say I really do like the condo I rented ;) I decided to share some pictures of the condo I'm in for this week.

This is the small dining area:
This is the living room. The view just overlooks some office buildings.
I think what I love most about this place is the fire place (electric of course). Gosh, I want one for my condo!!! Do you like fireplaces?

Oh and this is the kitchen area with ensuite laundry behind the door on the left:
And the bedroom!

I skipped the washroom picture LOL. But it's nice a cozy here which is important since I'm spending eight nights here ;)

How's your weekend looking? Are you going to do anything fun or exciting or are you just going to relax?? =)

A few more MAC eye shadow purchases

I'm at my parents house for a couple of more days and I've been trying to manage without my makeup brushes. I left all my makeup brushes at my condo.

Let me tell you - I can't get around putting on eye shadow using my fingers only. I can sorta slap some powder blush on using my fingers and using foundation with my fingers is a piece of cake.

But eye shadow with my fingers? Nope. It's a mess.

Have you tried to apply eye shadow using only your fingers?

So I haven't been able to try any new looks yet with the new eye shadows I bought. I went to MAC to pick up a couple of supposedly staple MAC eye shadows like MAC woodwinked and MAC sable....I left with a few more.

In the picture above, on the left hand side going down we have MAC Girlie (a gorgeous pink colour), MAC Bronze (I've seen a few beautiful bronze looks lately and I want to copy it!) and MAC Beautiful Iris (a beautiful lavender colour that I couldn't pass up).
Then on the right hand side going down we have MAC Sable (I'm sure this will live up to my expectations - it's such a pretty brown/bronze metallic colour), MAC Kid (oh gosh, this beige is sooo pretty I had to get it) and MAC Woodwinked (pigmented and metallic like MAC sable but it has more gold bronze in it).
Here are swatches:

Top row swatches left to right: MAC Woodwinked, MAC Sable
Bottom row swatches left to right: MAC Bronze, MAC Girlie, MAC Beautiful Iris and MAC Kid.
I'll have to post an FOTD using these eye shadows later in the week!
In the meantime, what are your favourite eye shadows you can't go without?
I hope you're having a lovely start to your week :)
